School Expeditions & Trips to East Africa

Why choose Go Elective for your school expedition

At Go Elective, we believe travel is one of the most powerful classrooms. Our School Expeditions program offers schools from the U.S., U.K., Europe, and beyond a safe, curriculum-linked, and immersive journey to East Africa.

These expeditions are designed not just as trips, but as transformational learning experiences that broaden perspectives and equip young people with pre-professional skills and personal growth tools that last a lifetime.

We offer age-sensitive programs that are carefully adapted for primary, junior, and high school groups, ensuring every student participates at an appropriate level. Each program is customized in consultation with teachers, career advisors and guardians and runs from 1 to 8 weeks, depending on your goals.

Program Core Areas

View the world through multiple lenses.

Each program is built around four core areas: healthcare exposure, environment conservation, volunteering, and cultural immersion paired with safari experiences.

By weaving these themes together, students gain the opportunity to view the world through multiple lenses.

What sets Go-Elective apart is our commitment to purposeful travel. Students engage directly with local peers, community leaders, and experts in safe, structured environments. They return home not only with stories of adventure, but also with a deeper understanding of resilience, global responsibility, and their own capacity to contribute.

Learning Strands

Four learning strands you can mix and match

Healthcare Exposure

Age-appropriate, observational experiences that introduce students to how health systems work in resource-variable settings, paired with global health seminars and ethical, non-invasive service activities such as health education days or hygiene campaigns run with community partners.

Conservation and the Environment

Ranger talks, conservation education days, and a safari game drive linked to biodiversity, human-wildlife conflict, and climate topics. Options include learning in the Amboseli–Tsavo and coastal ecosystems.

Entrepreneurship and the Business Landscape

Meet local founders and social enterprises, visit markets and small manufacturers, and map value chains common in East Africa. Students connect economic realities with culture, logistics, and tourism.

This strand is available upon request. For advanced, hands-on programs tailored to MBA and business school students, please contact us at [email protected]

Community Volunteering

Structured, age-appropriate service that supports community-defined projects such as visiting orphanages and local schools. tree planting, coastal clean-ups, school exchange days, and learning resource drives. Safeguarding and ethics are integral when activities involve children or vulnerable groups.
