One of our highlighted medical facilities in Mombasa is the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital with a history dating back to 1908. As Kenya's second-largest public hospital, it serves over a million people as their primary healthcare provider and three million as a secondary option, attracting individuals from across Kenya and East Africa in pursuit of high-quality care.
With a 700-bed capacity, this hospital offers immersive hands-on experiences for clinical students and intensive shadowing opportunities for pre-health students under the guidance of local healthcare professionals. Additionally, we provide the option to experience a private hospital setting through our partnerships with other healthcare facilities in Mombasa. Visiting students during their placement abroad will see healthcare challenges such as diverse cultural attitudes, religious influences on medical practices, financial limitations affecting patient care, and the occurrence of patients presenting at advanced stages of illness.
